Invisalign Treatment

Scheduling an Appointment

On your first visit to our office, our dentist will conduct a thorough dental exam. The purpose of the exam is to review the status of your current oral health and to resolve any possible dental problems prior to the treatment. Once an examination has been conducted, our dentist will take digital impressions of your teeth, which will be used to make your set of Invisalign aligners. Shortly after this appointment, the aligners are given to you along with instructions on how to use and take care of them.

Invisalign Aligners are Transparent

The reason many of our patients choose Invisalign is due to their transparency. The aligners consist of medical grade plastic components, allowing Invisalign to be discreet. Although they are transparent, they will still be slightly noticeable in close proximity.

Invisalign Aligners are Removable

Invisalign aligners can be removed at your convenience. Although our dentist will recommend wearing them as much as possible throughout your treatment, it is nice to have the option to remove them for a special event or when you eat or drink.

The duration of treatment for Invisalign depends on the severity of your case, although the average time for this treatment is about 12-15 months.

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign aligners are easy to clean. Our dentist will suggest cleaning them every time you remove them and before reinserting them. To clean your aligners, simply run them under warm water.

A fundamental reason why patients have started to opt for Invisalign is because it is made of BPA-free plastic and does not have any plasticizers or other dangerous toxins that can be released into your mouth.

Once you have completed your Invisalign treatment, our dentist will suggest wearing a retainer. The purpose of the retainer is to prevent your teeth from shifting into the position they were in prior to the treatment.

Invisalign aligners are a great alternative to metal braces that can provide you with the smile you've always wanted. For more information on the Invisalign process or to schedule an appointment with our dentist to see if Invisalign is the right treatment for you, please contact us at 504-885-0467 or come to our office today.
